As soon as I activate RTS Treshold, I no longer have access to the WebIF over 2.4Ghz.
surely this can only be a bug?
I can confirm your findings, Enabling RTS threshold effectively makes de GUI not reachable when on 2.4 GHz.
At least it is really slow, loads partially and/or crashes my browser (Used Chrome, FireFox and old Internet Explorer, none worked)

On my R7800 I have had RTS/CTS enabled for both bands with a threshold of 980 with all builds for months.
Since a week or more I have experienced repeated 15 seconds or longer lasting interruptions of video streamed via the Chromecast module on our TV. The Chromecast is the only device on my WLAN that can only work on 2.4 GHz. Our smartphones usually connect at 5 GHz.
I have now had RTS/CTS disabled for a few days and switched to Vanilla F/W only on 2.4 GHz.
That seems to have been the end of nasty interruptions in TV streams via Chromecast.
After the latest DD-WRT build upgrade I was suddenly having serious page loading problems of the WebGUI pages similar to what has been described here.
At that time I was probably using WLAN instead of a cable connection at that time on the laptop I use to access the WebGUI of the router, because I was testing some things. Normally I use a cable connection.
The GUI problems went away after a little while, apparently just like that. The reason probably was that I disabled the WLAN again and connected a cable. At the time I didn't realize the connection.
Video streaming on 2.4 GHz with the latest builds seems to suffer from having RTS/CTS active, too.
