I have and it works on EA8500. =) Running Vanilla now and one behavior I notice, which may be intentional,
is during boot it loads default custom DD-WRT binaries then at the end of dmesg output switches to VANILLA.

yes. the driver loads always the default firmware and i made a modification which allows a firmware switch on demand if selected. the dd-wrt firmware has 5 and 10 mhz support and auto ack timing. the vanilla firmware has a different newer codebase, which i dont have. to people cannot complain if something in my own firmware is not working in the way they like it. but try to make a performance comparisation _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Switching between Vanilla and dd-wrt made no difference for me. Group re-keying kept failing so I turned it off on wlan0 (the WDS AP) and I haven't had any more wifi problems between the WDS AP and the WDS stations. wifi uptime 7 hours 42 minutes so far. With the re-keying enabled I would start losing stations after 5 hours. The router did not reboot.
EDIT: The WDS network ran fine for about 12 hours and then the wifi reset for some unknown reason. I assumed setting the key renewal interval to 0 disables it? To put a positive spin on this, all of the WDS wifi reset at the same time. Individual router wifi when down at different intervals before setting the key renewal to 0. None of the routers rebooted.

WireGuard client to Keepsolid working, WireGuard client for site-to-site setup to own server working.
Older Android AC/N clients will not connect at 2.4 GHz when N/G mixed is used when using DDWRT firmware when choosing Vanilla firmware I can use N/G mixed again like it was in 44719, so for now staying on Vanillla Firmware

R9000 users. There is a bug in the code for 2.4ghz that prevents the broadcast for the radio if you try and run vanilla mode...This has been fixed in 45850. _________________ FORUM RULES
