Hi, I'm absolutely new here and was trying to flash my old Netgear 6220 with the latest firmware version v.1.1.0.106_1.0.1 (more info here https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Netgear_R6220)

So I downloaded the beta files
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2021/02-10-2021-r45729/netgear-r6220/

I flashed via GIU with the .img file everything went well, but I'm not able to access the new firmware via 192.168.1.1 nor with routerlogin.net.

Did I brick my device? or did I missed a step?
I tested it by pinging it and it seems to work.

Thank you in advance.

Power cycle and see if the behavior changes. Wait a few minutes, if nothing maybe try a hardware reset.

See this thread, if I remember correctly nmrpflash was used. Netgear R6220 Missing WiFi tab [SOLVED]

Thank you, I already power cycled the router and nothing, I'm just wondering if I could just try to flash it again with nmrpflash, or do I need to delete something?

I do not have personal experience with this device.

Only was thinking some stock configuration data may be interfering (or not).

That's why I thought about holding reset 7 seconds. Other than that, yes you can flash a factory image again.

You must flash this as initial flash:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2021/02-17-2021-r45767/netgear-r6220/

Any build earlier than that is junk for the devices that were added as part of that class of MediaTek devices.

Great catch kp69, for some reason I assumed he was already using r45767 but apparently I am going blind.

Thank you so much, I'll try to flash to factory settings and then to that.

You can go straight to factory-to-ddwrt.img with nmrpflash.

ok, I did the first factory-to-default.img with nmrpFlash the lights turned on and off, so then I flashed the beta and the lights got stable but still no sign of dd-wrt.

so I may try again tomorrow, I installed the original firmware just to check if the device didn't get bricked, and it didn't. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Should I do something with the bin files?

Thank you all for your help.

Sorry I am just going by the solved thread, it should have worked. Back to stock firmware now, correct?

Do a 7 second reset for good measure then upload factory-to-ddwrt from the stock web interface.

If you are using Chrome or something Chromium based, try something Firefox based instead.

Pale Moon, Waterfox ( Classic 56 or 3rd Gen 78 ), Firefox ESR 78 or Release 85 ( 78 reliable, 85 YMMV )
