I recently bought a Netgear WAC124 Access Point to replace an aging WNDR3700 which has been running DD-WRT firmware quite happily for a number of years.

I have a program that I wrote that connects to the WNDR3700 via Telnet to extract information about attached devices. Unfortunately I cannot find any information about enabling Telnet using stock firmware on the WAC124 so I was wondering if there were any plans to support DD-WRT on that device.

Thanks in advance

MediaTek device. I moved this to the proper forum.

https://deviwiki.com/wiki/Netgear_WAC124

https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Netgear_WAC124

https://openwrt.org/toh/netgear/netgear_wac124

Ideally, it would be great to have donated hardware in hand so BrainSlayer could add it, but some homework may help.

https://dd-wrt.com/donations/

https://dd-wrt.com/router-detection/

There are some newer MediaTek devices that have been recently added, but there are always some details that may be required for proper functionality.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and for putting the message in the correct forum.

I would be happy to donate hardware to BrainSlayer could work on this. Rather than trying to ship hardware internationally would it be possible to just send money via paypal so he could order the unit locally via Amazon?

How can I contact BrainSlayer to see if this approach would be acceptable?

Other than via the donations link to send money, you can email him directly and discuss, perhaps. I will PM you the address.

Hey guys. Is this beta version stable enough to use already? I have the same router and I'm thinking on trying that.

Without user feedback reported in the build threads there is only one way to find out.

Nobody is reporting successful flashes or issues (yet). Current release:

New Build - 03/04/2021 - r45891

03-04-2021-r45891/netgear-wac124

Initial flash from stock, use the factory-to-ddwrt.img file; future upgrades, use the wac124-webflash.bin file.

I can confirm i was able to install the latest firmware on Netgear WAC124 and it seems to be stable enough to me.
Works superfast not like the stock firmware I am really happy with it. Very Happy

Please flash and report in the build threads. This isn't a helpdesk thread, read the Installation Wiki. To clarify, this thread was opened to add the device to the list of supported devices, not to seek support in flashing or configuring. Locked until further notice.
