Router/Version: Netgear R7000
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r45767 std (02/17/21)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.257 #2063 SMP Wed Feb 17 10:53:21 +06 2021 armv7l
Previous: r45592
Mode/Status: Gateway / AP/working
Issues/Errors: None

USB 500GB NTFS drive with single partition was not being recognized with r45735 but after seeing comments from BrainSlayer the drive was disconnected from the r7000 and attached to W10 machine and scanned for errors. Some errors were found and corrected. The drive was re-connected to r7000 and the firmware updated to r45767.
The USB drive is now operating correctly as it did previously with r45592 with all files and directories visible.
It appears that the errors that were on the drive prevented the firmware after r45592 from recognizing it properly.

Uptime: 2hrs
Upgrade: via web UI, no issues
Reset: No
Temperatures: CPU 65.8 °C / WL0 47.7 °C / WL1 46.0 °C

Status: working with the exception of samba, usb and nas
Updated: via webgui

Issues: can access usb from internet explorer on Windows 7 computer hardwired to a lan port to the router. There is the message: this folder is empty; sda1 where the files are. I cannot access the folder from the television; the message: No video files found on the connected device.

Note; if I set the file sharing path to /mnt in build 45592 you will see the folders /mnt, /opt and /jffs with windows explorer in Win7 and if you click on /mnt you get /sda1 and clicking on sda1 you see your files. If you go to the television you will see sda1 folder and if you click on it, you see all your files

This is not the case with build r45767

I used a different external drive, 500G and the results were the same as the 2T external drive which rules out the size of the drive.

Hi Abboo - it appears the error messages you sent are telling you that your disk has errors on it as others have mentioned. You should run checkdisk on your NTFS partition (sda1). And for the EXT4 partitions (sda5 and sda6), you'll need to boot into a linux computer and run e2fsck on them to correct the errors. I think you can try to find a small linux distro that you can install onto a USB drive and boot off of that if you don't want to install it on your computer.

Thanks, I will look into it and give it a try.

the newer ntfs r/w driver which is much faster than the old one does not mount devices which are dirty. (unclean disconnect). the older ntfs-3g was different here. so always make sure that devices are in clean state. right now there is no proper chkdsk utility for ntfs available in linux.

Previous: v3.0-r45735 std (02/11/21)
Mode/Status: AP wired and wireless, Up and running for 3 days.
Reset: Soft boot before and after upgrade
Temperatures: CPU 56.4 °C / WL0 44.3 °C / WL1 49.5 °C
Issues/Errors: Nothing significant

Updated via webif. No 'nvram erase' this time, last one was in July 2018 (r36325).

The mysterious "Sysctl" tab in the Administration tab intrigues me, but I am reluctant to make any change there. Wink

There is a minor issue with the packet count on wl0.1 and "Connected Clients" stuck at zero. The wl0 and wl1 counts seem correct.
Upload and Download speeds are to ISP spec. Nothing unexpected in the syslog.

Current basic R7000 setup (subject to change of course):
- Static WAN IP
- SFE - On
- STP - On
- IPv4 only, both WAN and LAN
- LAN DHCP Enabled
- Wireless: AP, Regulatory Domain = CANADA, wl0 Mixed (ch. 6), wl1 AC/N-Mixed (ch. 149, VHT80), AES
- 1 wireless VLAN on wl0
- SNMP disabled, SSH enabled, Telnet disabled
- Firewall enabled, Log Level high
- Syslog: to local server. klogd: disabled.
- USB support - Off
- No custom scripts
- NO: ttraf, Tor, VNC, Zabbix, VPN, Radius, OpenVPN
- NO: UPnP, DMZ, QoS
- NO: Samba, CIFS, JFFS2, miniDLNA, Entware, Optware

Router Name dd-wrt-ap
Router ModelAsus RT-AC5300
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r45767 std (02/17/21)
Kernel VersionLinux 4.4.257 #2068 SMP Wed Feb 17 11:31:03 +06 2021 armv7l
Previous/Reset: Stock Asus WRT v3.x.xxx)
Mode/Status: ASUS RT-AC5300 - working as wl AP (no routing)
Issues/Errors: There is an issue for which it is not possible to select channels from 100-148. Broadcom nvram fix/workaround mentioned above already applied Additionally the wifi is performing very badly with respect to the stock firmware. 30-50% loss in performance, probably due to the use of non optimal channel due to the aforementioned description.

Very other setting is stock,

This issue is linked to the discussion https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1229731#1229731

Any help is appreciated.

Piggyback to here. Did you try another network mode besides AC-Only? That may be the root cause of your issues.
