Router/Version: TP-Link ARCHER-C7 v4 File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r45735 std (02/11/21) / Linux 3.18.140-d5 #106480 Previous/Reset: r45729 / Yes Mode/Status: 2.4GHz AP NG-Mixed / 5GHz AP N/AC-Mixed Issues/Errors: See below
1. Setting 2.4GHz to NG-Mixed or Mixed won't enable 802.11n (only b/g). See macOS wireless diagnostics picture below.
2. Manually setting 2.4GHz channel (I tried 1, 6, and 11) will drastically decrease speed, to the same levels as seen in this post: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=328189 . Setting channel to AUTO will make 2.4GHZ at reasonable b/g speeds (still no N).
Router/Version: Netgear X4S R7800.
File/Kernel: r45735 std, Linux 4.9.255 #1123.
Previous/Reset: Netgear v1.0.2.80 (current for R7800), reset to Netgear factory defaults before installing *.img file via Netgear web GUI.
Mode/Status: In service 6+ hours, Ethernet, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, good speed, low error rate.
Issues/Errors: None I'm aware of.
Thank you for builds and wealth of instructions.
pointless commit r45727 ruining ng-mixed, make sure to override it manually...
(on the other hand.. fixed my qca9888 crash issue finally)
I started a new post, I discovered that on same build on my R7800, and brand new toy the R9000, if I have the exact same settings and have 5ghz set for AC/N Mixed my devices can see the 5ghz of the R9000 but not the R7800. Only way to have the 5GHZ show up for R7800 is change to mixed.

R7800 upgraded via GUI without reset.
No problems.
Thumb drive with two ext4 partitions - JFFS and Optware - attached to USB port get mounted and are accessible by router (dnsmasq.leases & reserved IP file) and my Linux Mint laptop client via SMB (latest version 3.11 for min & max).
2.4 (NG-mixed) & 5 GHz (AC/N-mixed) WLAN OK. 5 GHz speeds up to 433 Mbps as per the gui.
LAN Active client stats look generally ok, but it's hard to verify whether the numbers are correct.
However ... my laptop is sometimes listed with two IP's, one being the reserved IP and the other 169.xxx.xxx.xxx (always the same one). In such case, the # of connections is erroneously shown as 0, but the in/out/totals are going up over time and the connections table does show numerous connections, which is as expected.
UPDATE: in this case - two IP's - the hostname is not shown in the Active Clients list.
Indeed, according to the DNS server's network list the laptop has two different names, the one for 169.xxx.xxx.xxx given as <hostname>.local, whereas the name for the reserved IP is listed as <hostname>.<local domain name>
Whenever the laptop is shown with only its reserved IP after it, the # of connections is non-zero and looks reasonable.
Local clients that use Wireguard VPN (running on a raspberry pi which runs the DNS server, too) sometimes show zero connections, sometimes one (to the WAN IP). Some low traffic totals, but not likely everything (it's a smartphone, chattering or attempting to chatter incessantly)

Previous/Reset: dd-wrt-webupgrade-netgear_r7800-r44772.bin / no reset
Mode/Status: WDS AP with 4 stations / Working
Issues/Errors: wireguard rate dropped from 320 Mb to 160 Mb - reboot did not fix the problem
