Hello,
Just picked up an Asus RT-AC5300. Just wondering if there are any recommendations for firmware to use? I heard Kong builds are most stable, but no longer receiving updates and I can't seem to find any download links anywhere. Am I better off going for a more recent build in that case? Stability is most important for me.
Need to set up multiple IP addresses on the WAN interface. However, it appears the default only allows a single IP address. Is there a way to easily apply more than one IP?

by means of cli commands or startup script you can add subinterface(s) with its respective IP address(es). _________________ If you want support, please read first the announcements and forum rules.

Thanks, and yes.. sorry: fw is 3.0.0.4.384_82072, which won't allow GUI upload due to .trx signature.
The issue doesn't really seem to be with the package or space itself. Simply the stock OS linux currently running doesn't have the write command.
In fact "which write" does not return anything but $PATH seems correct.
Thanks for the "Rescue mode" link. Since I'm on Mac/linux, it's a bit complicated to have a windows machine with the software installed.
Have you ever encountered any similar behavior? I've also tried to do the same with other FW like build 3xxx, but again it's the write command that fails. I wasn't able to fond any guidance on this.
He meant which version of DD-WRT, not the stock firmware. Don't these also have the cfe mini webserver to flash/recover from?
Double sorry: I meant current latest as of today for ac5300:
betas/2021/02-11-2021-r45735/asus-rt-ac5300/asus_rt-ac5300-firmware.trx
But I've also tried 2019 versions r3xxx as mentioned.
Nothing gets flashed. But the issue seems to be that the OS version I SSH into misses the write command at OS level. I cannot even install it via aptitude (apt or apt-get). No version of dd-wrt works even though the tax file gets downloaded in the /tmp
As also mentioned no versions of the firmware (trx file) is acceted but the GUI for the update - firmware is not signed.
Does that mean I need to rollback to a very old version of stock firmware before switching to dd-wrt.
I haven't found instructions on how to flash form the cfe mini.

hmmm there was a "put" command instead or "write", but...yep as you are coming from stock firmware, its not expected the stock CLI to have the full stack of commands... than as alternative you can flash trough recovery mode...or even via GUI...just dont use chrome based browser's...try 'pale-moon browser' when it comes to any router management... _________________ Atheros

Thank you. I'm afraid that is not an issue with browser though. I believe it is the Asus Firmware that is checking the trx signature and not permitting the upload.
Tested to upload dowry r45735 via Firefox 85.0.2 and the updload failed with this message:

Serial recovery or mini cfe webserver (recovery mode). The mini cfe webserver should be available in recovery mode, if you can't use the firmware restoration utility. The only other option outside of that IS to flash the oldest stock firmware you can find and see if it will downgrade from the webUI. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
