Hello how are you? I come to this place to ask for help from those who know. I am new using the DD WRT firmware, I have been using version v3.0 R40559 for a few months on my router tp link WR1043ND V1, It worked well for me but with some disconnection or buffbload failures in repeater mode so I saw a new version of R45690 dated 02/06/2021 and decided to install it to see if there was a new funsion cake in the QOS and to my surprise when proceeding with the Installation just waiting for 2 minutes of installation after 5 seconds elapse the router restarts and with the supposed correct installation and when seeing the installed version it shows me the same old one, it does not allow me to install new versions or the factory version. try the webrevert file and the same thing happens. Pale Moon, Waterfox ( Classic 56 or 3rd Gen 78 ), Firefox ESR 78 or Release 85 ( Release version is YMMV )

Flash over wired Ethernet and check to see if a software firewall or security software is preventing transfer.

I believe Cake QoS has not changed in a long time, however there were changes shortly after r40559.

Flash via CLI, not webUI. See the link to the installation wiki in my signature.

Command-line flash will bypass need for reliable web browsers, any OS security, and directly download to the router (safest).

CLI flash instructions wiki is linked in the build threads above, with an alternate condensed explanation in green. Copy paste:

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

This is done from Telnet/SSH logged in as root.

There is only two ways to update this router, at least for me.
1 Installation of Breed uboot and flash firmware via webui of Breed.
2 Merge factory-to-ddwrt.bin with uboot and make fullflash from Telnet or SSH.

Hint: Trying to flash a WEBflash build via cli may not be the best idea.

No, tl-wr1043nd-webflash.bin is the correct file. Are you sure this is model is a V1?

If you want to try going back to stock firmware, use the Web GUI firmware upgrade page and this file.

tl-wr1043nd_v1-webrevert.rar (source) (mirror)

The webpage below says if the serial number starts with 12 then upload a German firmware after webrevert.

https://joeyiodice.com/converting-tp-link-tl-wr1043nd-to-dd-wrt/ ------- Then try factory-to-ddwrt.bin again.

Is write working correct ? File does not seem to big to me, the device has 8M flash

Don't own this router. If cat /proc/mtd for linux partition fits with the filesize of tl-wr1043nd-webflash.bin ?

Is mtd -f /tmp/tl-wr1043nd-webflash.bin linux valid and possible on the router?

The folder with just wr1043nd in the name is for v1.x. As long as it is a v1.0 through v1.8 (I don't recall a v1.9?), then the wr1043nd folder applies.

ok i have the correct version firmware rember i install first the r40599 and now i cant upgrade to another version or back to the main sofware. i notice sometime today after of the first try with telnet now my device have an AVG of 4.8 or 5mb free but before of the first try with telnet i see an AVG of 9mb or 11mb free memory. i dont know after the Writte step fail i need to use another command to clean the memory because i just close the window and do 2 or 3 factory reset in the ui and button reset on the back of the device.

I was trying to remember how to flash it via CLI and I'm not sure if it could be that you need to flash it to a different location?

I think for the TL-WR1043ND (at least the v1.8 ), it may need to be fullflash and not linux?

At least when I look in here, they reference fullflash but I could be very wrong here since you are doing certain steps to correct an issue with flashing.
