I have been reading about a new security protocol called WireGuard. I am wondering if it will be looked at as a replacement for OpenVPN in future DD-WRT Firmware binaries. Info on it is located at https://www.wireguard.com/ .
Thanks

WG is already available for dd-wrt, and will likely never be a replacement for OpenVPN, since OpenVPN has certain advantages over WG (e.g., WG doesn't support bridged tunnels whereas OpenVPN does), and vice versa. IOW, each will be around for a long time, w/ users choosing which best serves their needs.

Thanks for the heads up on WG and its potential uses. Glad to hear that it is in the pipeline ...

It is not in the pipeline, it is already present for about one and a half year and actively used.

Thanks for those links. I will definitely visit all of them as I want to understand WireGuard's uses and how it is being integrated in the DD-WRT systems. My 'in the pipeline' was a bad chose of words. No offense intended Embarassed
