I recently swtiched my router to DD-WRT and have issues with images loading in Facebook ant this only on mobile devices (mainly cell phones). Don't have this issue e.g. on my laptop.

Have tried this here already:

Network Lag and Facebook problems:

Moderator edit: I don't know exactly where you got the link, but I fixed it so it has the right topic number and no fbclid tracking link.

But no luck so far. Switching the mobile device to 4G makes all images loading instantaneously. Have now scheduled a daily router reboot as I noticed that after a reboot images do load swiftly on mobile devices. It's only after some time the issue becomes getting worse and worse.

Welcome to the forum.

These questions are not router specific so can best be answered in the Advanced Networking forum.

To get the best out of DDWRT and the forum read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers:

If you have not already read the forum guidelines, please do !!

Maybe you have a bad build but as you are not telling us your router model and build number I cannot tell Sad

But this could be an MTU problem try with MTU 1200

Thanks and sorry for the mistake and having forgot to mention the model and build. Did already try to scan the forum on similar issue, but wasn't able to find anything specific myself. Thanks for the link already!

I have a D-LINK DIR-869. I'm now running build r45454, but had started out with build r45130.

I already lowered MTU from 1500 to 1400 based on trying to find the best possible MTU-size:
https://www.wikihow.com/Find-Proper-MTU-Size-for-Network
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/190/

>> But this could be an MTU problem try with MTU 1200

Thx! I'll try lowering it further down to 1200 and see if this brings any additional improvement.

Just for reference I had the same problem over Wireguard. Lowering the MTU on the tunnel fixed the issue.

Maybe you need to look at what all the default tcp / udp buffer sizes are; but I would venture to say there are only a couple of things that would be involved here. Firmware version or your client's wi-fi or the fact that it might be a time to reboot the mobile device...
