Hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on here.
So until today I had been using the ASUS firmware on my router (RT-AC88U).
Currently I have build 45229 running on the router.
I have a machine running Server 2016 with IPv4 DHCP. I have DHCP set to disabled in the DD-WRT basic setup and all checkboxes unchecked.
I cannot get IP assignments either through wired or wireless. Setting a static address seems to be the only thing that's working and I can ping the DHCP server (which was already static, obviously).
If I enable the DHCP server on the router, I get IPs.
I'm guessing at this but it seems like something in the router is blocking DHCP requests or acknowledgements from the server.
I've not setup any vlans. Other than setting the Router's IP and subnet as well as the WiFi SSIDs and encryption, everything is defaulted.
Anyone have any clue what the deal could be? If you need more info, lemme know.
Yes, I actually have 2 unmanaged switches connected to ports 1 and 2 on the router. All of the wired devices, including the dhcp server, are on those 2 switches. The other 6 ports are unused.
Edit*
I can ping the server and RDP into it. DNS on the server is functional as well.
Sadly, I ended up reverting back to the Asus firmware. After doing some more poking around I found I actually could not get any wired device to talk to anything on the network, but oddly I could talk to the wired devices from wireless devices.
I have no idea what the deal there was but I gotta have my network functional for muh job.
I'm willing to try again at a later date, I'm back up and running on the Asus firmware now. I'd be interested to know what builds folks have gotten to run with this particular router.

Interesting. Did you have to make any changes to the default config for basic network functions over the wired side?
Well, I tried again and it seems to be working, for the most part. I must have done something wrong, some how, during the flashing process. But whatever, it's up minus a couple of wireless cameras not connecting for some reason.

How did you get this to work? IM having the same issue? I can only get DHCP to work on wireless?
