Where did 1.73Gbps wireless go? I originally bought 3 of these routers, 2 of the 3 were to extend wireless and the third was to connect up to my ISP.
For awhile I was always able to attain 1.73Gbps over what I think was 2x866Mbps channels. Nowadays I can only connect at 866Mbps on all three routers. I've tried all sorts of settings and it seems like none of them can do that speed over wireless AC anymore.
Was something changed awhile back to improve wireless stability which resulted in the max wireless speed now being 866? I haven't changed my wireless cards in either of my laptops either. I have a wireless 9560 which supports 160Mhz channels but messing around with it's settings doesn't let me connect faster than 866 either.
Is there a particular older build that supports it or am I missing something to get 1.73Gbps back again. I only ask now as I finally got my ISP to upgrade me from 50Mbps to 500 so now 866Mbps doesn't keep up with my internet connection.
I tried that build but didn't notice any difference in wireless performance. Oddly though, I tried a few builds from 2019 and get much better performance with 866Mbps.
Even stranger is all the recent builds, when I select 160 mode, it only gives me the option of selecting channels 100 and up. I tried r38159 and r39927 and 160 mode allows me to choose between channels 36-161 so I wonder when channels under 100 disappeared for me.
My routine is to usually wait until someone posts that the latest build works before flashing it so usually I'm on the latest beta builds as they become available.
I haven't done a complete reset and reconfigure since last year. Well until today. I wiped the router and started over. I still see the same thing if I set it to VHT160, all the channels below 100 disappear. I can only see them if I set it to VHT80.
Starting over from scratch, I set it to AC mode only and VHT160 on channel 100 and I rebooted the router. My intel wireless card refuses to connect any higher than 866.
I always keep my drivers up to date so I am running the latest drivers on my laptop.
I don't see any difference in speed setting it to 80 or 160. I wonder what changed that I can no longer get 1.73Gbps speeds. I remember picking up three WRT32X's awhile back to get good coverage in the house and I always got speeds above 866. Now they all act as if they all can only max out at 866Mbps and they aren't actually doing 160 anymore.

I have a related problem with my router and my network card from Intel.
System Router:
Router Model: Linksys WRT32X
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 (08/06/19)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.9.187 #1207 SMP Tue Aug 6 05:17:29 CEST 2019 armv7l
CPU Model: Marvell Armada 385
Country: Austria
Channel and Extension Settings: thats the problem (see text below)
Advanced Setting: Default Just with one Thing, the Right Country Set on Startup
System Laptop:
OS: Windows 10
Network card: Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160 MHz
Driver Version: 22.10.0.7 (10/20/2020)
Before someone says, this is the not recommend firmware, its just the router database version. STOP. Thats the point!
THIS is the only version i can use, where the Intel Card is getting the full 1.7 Gbps.
All other firmware releases (i tried minimum 8 versions) inclusive the latest r45219 one does not function. The symptoms are, slowly pageloading at beginning. Not connection to VHT160, various connection speeds and timeout "feeling".
I also set FIRST the country to load the right channels from the chip (so from the forum).
I think my problem is the WLAN Channel AND Extension Channel Setting. Why? The "bad" Release r40559 has Channel AUTO and Extension AUTO as setting (i know, AUTO setting is not the best)! But all other releases above need to be configured channel and extension manually. I can't find the right channel with also the extension to work as the "AUTO" does. I checked the allowed Channel settings from the forum
100+UUU
104+UUL
108+ULU
112+ULL
116+LUU
120+LUL
124+LLU
128+LLL
Nothing works really good and without problems or heavy delays.
I tried also the VHT80 with the allowed extensions settings. Intel is maybe a little princess, because Samsung Adnroid Smarthones likes the most settings
I don't think, that another firmware router setting from me is the problem, because i tried a fresh flash with just WLAN as configured setting (all others were on default). Same problem.
I did also a factory reset and erase nvram and (what not recommend is 30/30/30 reset).
If you need more information like syslog or something i will try to post it later. Any help would be preferred, because i want to use newer features like (ipset) on my router without loosing the full speed.
I saw on my other router E3200 in the firmware version r-45130 mini the advanced wlan setting "bluetooth coexistence mode". I am missing this on my router WRT32X with firmware version r-45229 std. Maybe that setting could help.
I uninstalled the Intel Wireless Bluetooth drivers/programs. I am happy.
