hi all
The above netgear router is my current one on a fttc set up with a bt modem.

its the broadcom bcm4079a and py313200233 version.

I am fairly technical and the reason i need to flash my router is that i want to go over to nord vpn and they have told me to come here for the update file, as the current netgear softwares not compatable.

Please can someone point me in the right direction as i am finding the site a little confusing and dont want to wreck my router.

all information gratefully recieved .Please dont get too techie on me

I do not have your router and I hope someone with one will chime in, but coming from stock you start with a .chk file which is used for first flash.

The procedure is somewhat the same as for an R6400v2 (but the files you need are different of course) so you can also have a look at the R6400v2 install guide link in my signature.

For first flash maybe use 44715 but there might be better ones for first flash.

After 44715 there are some big updates to the GUI (and it is thus buggy) so I would not go further than 44715 (although I am currently running 45219 which seems fine ) at the moment until build threads will tell you it is better
