I have successfully got dd-wrt running on my router with much stress. I downloaded a build from the router database and bricked my router first though. I found a guide to debrick it and installed a version of dd-wrt from the manufactures website and it does work but i seem to get a lot of dropped connection messages. I am running a trendnet tew-811dru and I see it its supported. I would like to know if it's worth risking bricking my router again trying to install a newer version from the downloads page. I suppose I could probably debrick the router again if it fails but any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for your help, i have ordered a newer better router so when that arrives i will try installing the very newest version of dd wrt first and work my way back to the one you suggested. since i have a new router coming anyway i can play around with different versions risk free. i will be sure to report back with my findings.

It appears that one of the devices is jamming the network and causing several of the devices to get bad TX rates from the router to the devices... You need to find the culprit device...turn them off one at a time and watch the TX rate and it needs to NOT be 1M...this is bad...
Also, the router is only broadcasting at 65 mbps..this too is indicative of a settings issue. You should be at 300mbps for the 2.4 radio and 866 for 5ghz.
Might be worhtwhile to fully reset using the gui under admin settings and going back to factory defaults and entering settings fresh.
A lot of the same principles apply to BCM the same way they do for ATH. See my signature and try to match most of the settings as a test to see if your overall TX changes.
You clearly have some bad settings, or worse bad hardware where something broke; but likely the former.
What build is the above picture? _________________ FORUM RULES
I've hardly messed with the settings at all other than setting the password, the WIFI SSID and the WIFI password. I did set it to only broadcast N on the 2.4 ghz and only AC on the 5 ghz. The build is 23201 v24-sp2 i will include a screenshot to make sure i got it right. Also notice from the screenshot my cpu temp is 88.0 C seems very high to me.
for all i know that cpu temp could bee normal. i can't seem to find any information on typical operating temperatures on the internet. the newer firmware does seem to be giving me a more consistent internet connection though. thanks for that!
thanks for all the help guys, after updating to the suggested firmware and applying the suggested settings my router is working awesomely! this has been great fun. happy holidays guys!!!
