I own a WRT1200AC v1.
The last version of the flash working for me was 06-10-2018-r36104 which is 33,024kb.
The next version is 06-16-2018-r36154 of size 33,152kb and doesn't flash.
All versions after 06-16-2018-r36154 are larger size and also don't flash.
Has anyone else with WRT1200AC v1 successfully flashed with latest version (ie 2019)?
I believe WRT1200 has same size-restriction issues as WRT32XX.
At least WRT32XX releases have a workaround by making a smaller size of the flash.
Can we also do the same for WRT1200?
From back in January, I'm running a 2019 version (11-Jun-2019) on a "WRT1200AC Rev A02" (which apparently is v1).
In a nutshell:
Quote:
I found I had to use an older factory-to-ddwrt.bin.
11-Jun-2019 and 10-Feb-2020 factory-to-ddwrt.bin were unsuccessful. With those two: After successful firmware upgrade message in Linksys, I got a router rebooting (only option to click OK), Waiting..., and then within Linksys realm got a successful firmware upgrade or the like message. And reset or power cycling left me still within the Linksys firmware realm, hence my confusion if I needed to do something in addition to the factory-to-ddwrt.bin when within the Linksys realm.
Success with 26-Mar-2018 factory-to-ddwrt.bin. After firmware upgrading to that in Linksys realm, I left the computer and when I came back -- glorious dd-wrt.
So I would think at least the 11-Jun-2019 build should work for you, though at this point I'm personally looking to upgrade to something recent just to be security prudent.
