Turns out my single story house has too much metal via steel doors, furnace enclosure, ducting and the like to allow 1 R9000 coverage of all the nooks and crannys in the house, carport and patio.
I converted a small central bedroom into the house computer room containing 2 main gaming computers, laptops, printer, 2 USB charging centers, 10Gb network switching, Nas's, 2kw Ups, modem, 3 Routers, 1 Ubiquity AP, Alexa and Zigbee/Zwave boxes for all the house IOT and controls.
From there I run Cat6 Ethernet via innerduct and pvc conduit to the far corners of the house for wired entertainment centers and 2 Ubiquity Ap's.
It took some design work, thinking outside the contractor's box, and sweat equity. I now have a rock solid network backbone, Alexa in every room, problem free Wifi access, Dual WAN, and a non-Wifi R9000 whose only job is running YAMon on a 1Gb ISP connection. A Nas handles DHCP and the Cisco Dual WAN does DNS.
If you're watching Netflix I can reboot the R9000 and not interrupt your show due to the buffering and network.
