Hello Everyone,
I installed DD-WRT in my new Linksys WRT3200ACM.
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r44467 std (09/24/20)

I have big problem with DHCP.
DHCP server does not propagate local DNS address for clients network interfaces.
In attachment are examples of settings that are set in the LAN network configuration - local DNS has an address 192.168.10.10 and the interfaces receive the address 192.168.10.254, the same as the gateway/router address.

Someone tell me why?
Thanks for all answers.
Martin

Well, I understand that the firmware is not suitable for use with this router because it does not fulfill the basic function.
Please write it in the notes to this router.

Your settings are totally wrong.

The routers Local IP Address must be a private ip address like 192.168.5.1
Net mask 255.255.255.0

Local DNS and gateway should be left at their default 0.0.0.0

If you do not know what you are doing leave the router at default

This is only example, addresses are private, look at only on last octet.
Addresses are private 192.168.10.254 and dns should be 192.168.10.10 because it is a domain controller and it is supposed to resolve names in the network.
The crux of the problem is that DHCP doesn't distribute the DNS address entered in the settings to the network clients, only the router address.

No that is not the problem that is how it works.
When the router is in gateway mode leave the gateway and local DNS at their default 0.0.0.0.
(gateway is the IP address of the next hop and DNS server is the DNS server of your choice which is used by the router itself, it is not the address which is distributed to clients, so in this case yes you can use another DNS server on your local network, be sure to disable Rebind protection or use rebind-domain-ok).

The router always hands outs its own IP address as DNS server (if DNS is active)
If you do not want that and want to hand out another DNS server, you add the DNS server of your choice to the Additional DNSmasq options:
dhcp-option=6, x.x.x.x, y.y.y.y

If you do not know how it works there is usually a wiki explaining it:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/DNSMasq_as_DHCP_server

Why would you hide your private ip address?
That is how you create confusion
Your settings are so far off that no one cares to react.

To get the best out of DDWRT and the forum, read and follow the forum guidelines:
