I obviously realize the WRT54G was replaced by the WRT110

is there a current existing dd-wrt firmware I could use with the WRT110?

i didnt want to just try a wrt54g and have a brick for a router

thanks in advance

How about everyone? i mean taking a el-cheapo router and getting real use out of it, whats not to like? That is what this is about no?

So is it possible right now to get a small firmware on one of the WRT110's ?

Just went and picked one up from my local tech shop this morning. Will post back with what i find.

I would like to be able to turn one of these units into a cheap .11n bridge.

This appears to be a Ralink 2800 series based system running linux 2.2.4 which is compatible with most of the binary's working on older version of 2.2.x given of course specific requirements are met.

It does have enough flash space at least 2MB from everything i can find i will crack open the one i have to verify and provide all details possible if anyone is interested,

To my understanding you could get DD-WRT to load but i do not think it would actually work given the unsupported hardware. However the drivers for most of the Ralink hardware do have opensource counterparts so it would not be impossible to get a spiffy firmware for this device no?

Please let me know if this sounds totally stupid thanks :)

also this is not the correct forum for such a post.. could this topic be moved?

Thanks

to the sash guy who bashed this router, obviously you never used it, almost draft N speeds from a 65-70 dollar device not bad at all, plus this is what replaced the tried and trusted wrt54g line,

sound like a piece of junk? i think not, do your research before looking like a tool

to the other guy, i read one article where someone broke this router apart and said it was a broadcom based device hence why i put it in this forum

This link does indicate that it's Broadcom - anybody had the stones to try it yet? Smile

I just got it...I'm half-wondering if I should change it for a WRT54GL, I just wanted the pre-N stuff and the sleek design is optimal for the setting.
