[edit: 07.March 2021]:
Router Model: Ubiquiti NanoStation M5
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r45863 std (02/28/21)
Kernel Version: Linux 3.18.140-d5 #108144 Sun Feb 28 02:03:01 +07 2021 mips

Hello,

I would need you help in configuring my dd-wrt in such a way that the current connection stay's stable with the AP.

Application:
I would like to connect with the router to an eduroam network close by.
Therefore I set-up the 5Ghz network in the attached Wireless Client mode

Issue:
The router connects & gets a connection for a short periode - but after a few seconds (below 3 min) the connection is lossed & a re-connection will be performed.

I tried several thing to build up the connection in a stable way - but I struggle.

Therefore I uploaded the screenshots of Wireless Mode-Client configuration incl. the advanced settings & also the information of the AP situation.

The wireless security page is also attached where I hidded my personal information.

Can someone support & help me to get a stable connection ?

Do you have authorized legal access to this AP? We do not support helping people steal internet usage.

It helps if you state router model and build number

To get the best out of DDWRT and the forum read the forum guidelines with helpful pointers:

Your wireless settings do not seem optimal.

Consult the Wiki.

Try to use AC/N instead of mixed, and use 20 MHz channel width.

When you figure out why you're getting disconnected, the solution will be easy. Cool

Sorry to miss some information in the inital post:

Router Model: Ubiquiti NanoStation M5
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r45863 std (02/28/21)
Kernel Version: Linux 3.18.140-d5 #108144 Sun Feb 28 02:03:01 +07 2021 mips

Problem:
I think I do not meet the right configuration for the 5Ghz "client mode".

I adjusted the following values in the "wireless settings":
Changed Wireless Mode to : N-Only
Channel width to : 20Mhz

But as I'm not an expert in the the "wifi advanced settings", I'm still struggling with the settings.
Tried to "play" with the following values:
- Threshold - increased to 1250
- Beacon Interval - increased to 577
- DTIM Interval - increased to 2
- Sensitivity Range (ACK Timing) - set to 0

When I'm connected I archieve the following values:
Signal : -56
Noise : -95
SNR : 40

In the syslog I receive not a lot of information, which I can use for further analysis:
Quote:

Mar 7 13:02:28 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [144767.340000] wlan0: send auth to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:5f (try 1/3)
Mar 7 13:02:28 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [144767.340000] wlan0: authenticated
Mar 7 13:02:28 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [144767.360000] wlan0: associate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:5f (try 1/3)
Mar 7 13:02:28 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [144767.360000] wlan0: RX AssocResp from xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:5f (capab=0x1101 status=0 aid=1)
Mar 7 13:02:28 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [144767.370000] wlan0: associated
Mar 7 13:07:56 DD-WRT kern.info kernel: [145095.550000] wlan0: authenticate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:9f

There is no information about connection drop etc. so it just searches by its "own" for a new AP. Why?

Thanks for your support!
