Hi

Novice user here. Have subscribed for several years to PureVPN for geolocation streaming. 2 months ago it stopped working. PureVPN have not been very helpful, they advise a firmware upgrade required, not keen to do this as a novice in case I brick it and wondered whether anyone could see something that I and they cannot. The PureVPN subscription runs for another year and before I cancel it I´d like to know whether there´s something obvious I can fix /if someone can confirm what´s causing the problem.

setup: router is behind modem, has assigned local IP 192.168.3.1, connected by a LAN cable.
DNS settings are as advised by them.
Username, password and gateway have been checked multiple times by me.
Status is that router is online, however clients´ IP addresses are not hidden.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Welcome to the forum.

We can help you better if you follow the forum guide lines, link in my signature at the bottom of this post.

Always state router model and build number.

PPTP is unsafe to use so better use OpenVPN or WireGuard.

PPTP has been broken on a lot of builds but should be good on latest.

It is little used (and rightly so) so not much support on it Sad

But you should try setting it up from the VPN page not from Setup page
