I setup a very old Belkin F5D7230-4 (802.11 b/g) as a repeater bridge a long long while ago and now thinking of upgrading it to a 802.11 n/ac router (Netgear models preferred) for better performance. According to repeater bridge wiki, the chipset of the router must be Boardcom and not use Broadcom dhd driver (ex. AC5300). Does anyone here have a recommendation? Thanks.

R6400
But I think Atheros/Qualcomm will also do for setting up repeater bridge
Actually the best wireless connection seems WDS between Atheros/Qualcomm
But I do rarely use Wireless connections between my routers.
I prefer ethernet cable or Powerline adapters, far superior _________________ Routers:Netgear R7000, R6400v1, R6400v2, EA6900 (XvortexCFE), E2000, E1200v1, WRT54GS v1.

Repeater bridge works perfectly for my setup
DD-WRT v3.0-r45729 std (02/10/21)
2x Netgear R6400V2
First router in AP mode, and the second in dual "Repeater Bridge" and AP modes.
