Hi all,
My router (Linksy WRT1900AC-v1) currently has OpenWRT (19.7) on it. I'd like to try DD-WRT. I would have flashed the Linksys factory firmware first, then flash DD-WRT, but the file (Linksys 1.1.10.18766) is corrupted. Is there a workaround to this?
Thank you for the quick response. I have tried to flash the Linksys factory firmware, but the file seems to be corrupted and OpenWRT would not accept the file.

Since I only have one good partition left on my router, I just wanted to make sure I don't screw this up. I uploaded FW_WRT1900AC_1.1.8.161917_prod, and the following screen shows up. Do I hit "Continue" to flash the firmware? [/img]
If flashing factory stock Linksys FW_WRT1900AC*.img files from the OpenWRT GUI is now possible, as you are attempting to do, you would uncheck the first box to not keep settings and check the second box to force upgrade. That's a big if.
winscp (or any other scp tool) to transfer the stock .img file to the router /tmp folder.
login to router via ssh (putty tool is your friend) - default Openwrt login root password empty
run command from # prompt
Code:
fw_printenv boot_part
(to make note of your current partition - you are about to flash stock image on other partition)
(make sure your are using the correct name of your image file)
There is a hidden page in the stock FW that allows you to see what partition you are on : http://myrouter.local/sysinfo.cgi
From the Linksys UI you can switch to the other partition. Login to the Linksys go to troubleshooting-->diagnostics and select restore previous firmware. This will switch the wrt to the other partition.
http://myrouter.localor http://192.168.1.1/ default: linksys - admin/admin
you can use default admin password to avoid smart config setup wizard.
Thank you netubha. I will give it a try. Since I only have one good partition (ordering USB-TTL serial cable), I won't have to worry about partitions (for now).
