I have had a Linksys E3000 running dd-wrt for about 5 years now; it has been running it like a champ.

One day, it decided to flash its power LED at me (other lights act normally), and web UI wasn't open. It wouldn't accept TFTP or ping either. I'm a little new to this so bear with me.

I connected through serial, and this is what showed. Nothing else happens after this (I waited a couple hours).

Code:

CFE version 1.0.37 for BCM947XX (32bit,SP,LE)

I tried to flash a normal Linksys firmware, but the router only downloads 1 percent of it then freezes.

Code:

CFE> flash -ctheader : flash1.trx
Reading :: CODE Pattern is CORRECT!
upgrade_ver[v1.0.6] upgrade_ver[10006] 4712_ver[0]

I have a new router on the way; I just hope to fix this one.

That doesn't look good; sounds like the flash might have failed. Neutral I presume you'd tried a 30-30-30 as part of this TFTP'ing?

Yeah, I tried that. I am also worried about a bad flash.

I have just been able to upload 6 percent of the firmware, but the router froze again.

What are you using to tftp the firmware image? The linksys client, or tftpd32?

NO idea what version of DD-WRT you've had flashed....

Not 'a bad flash'... I meant failed flash memory sectors. But ya, per kp69, knowing the -exact- file you're flashing might help. But OEM f/w failing... also a bad sign. Sad
