I'm trying to get back to the original firmware on my Arilink AR430W with DD-WRT v24 SP1 installed (because it just doesn't seem to want to work as a client bridge using WPA2 encryption and the latest version of the original firmware supposedly should).
Wait, does "client bridge" mean it will act as a "game adapter"? That's the main reason I'm interested in dd-wrt... (basically a way to have multiple items with an ethernet port connect to my downstairs wireless network).
How do ou do this with the standard Airlink firmware?
DDWRT 3.x beta didn't work after a firmware upgrade.
The thing booted up, but the eth ports and WAN port couldn't talk to anything. I thought it was bricked.
BUT there was a stock "DD-WRT" wifi network available.
I connected to 192.168.1.1 over wifi
After some struggle and reading, I saw that eth0 wasn't bridged anywhere
To fix this problem, go to :
setup -> networking -> Bridging -> assign to bridge
make a new assignment - eth0 to br0
done.
I tried a 2020 bs version and had the same problem you describe.
but I was not able to reach the webgui from the dd-wrt wireless connection so I was unable to test your "fix".
I had to do a recovery using telnet and load an older version.
I'd be curious if there is a way to use these later builds without running into this problem. Maybe bridge the physical switches before flash?
