Hi,
got got the 40863 version of the tl-wr941ndv6-webflash.bin to work on a TA-WL901NDv4.
I use this device in Client Bridge (routed) mode.
The ethernet port works and i use a VAP for the repeater function.

On the ethernet port i get my whole bandwidth 19 ms 50M/bit down 2.5Mbit up but wireless i just get ca. 11M/bit down. Rest is the same. Tested with different wireless clients and rebooted my pc.

I use 2.4ghz only N channel 6 20 mhz.
I tried all of this hints from the OP but i cannot see "Airtime Fairness" in the advanced options.
Any other hint?

I already tried the tl-wa901ndv4-webflash.bin r43904
but the gui is not responseable when i configured the Client Brdige stuff so i downgraded and reset the router a lot of times.

P.S. i can see in inssder, that the VAP is dropping the wifi signal 7 times in 10 minutes. So VAP (Repeating)isn't stable.

Client "Bridge" is known to have bottlenecks.
Is the main router the client is connecting a dd-wrt device with atheros chipset ?
-> Check possibility for a WDS setup
You may try Client Mode instead if a WDS setup is not possible.

TA-WL901NDv4 has same PCB as Wr941NDv6 or WR940Nv3 ?

TP-Link and their infamous re-branding, I presume...

same PCB as Wr941NDv6
I connect to a netgear r7800 with stockfirmware. Didn't had time for flashing to dd-wrt Smile

I need the ethernetport and i thought that it only works in bridge mode. Or what is the difference?

I don't have any idea of WDS. The setup infos for client bridge i found here in the forum and it worked.
At the moment, all clients run fine with the smart option of netgear. 1 SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz and VHT160 enabled.
Thats a cool allroundersetting for 12 devices.
But i need a repeater for the garden.

The main pcb linked looks totally different to me, all versions have only ONE Ethernet Port, the WR940v3/WR941v6 main pcb has 5 (1 WAN and 4 LAN switch)

since r42054 there is a build for TL-WA901ND_v4.x/v5.x hardware.

No. Without bridge, the clients connected to WL901 are on their own dhcp enabled subnet, like guest network.

Yes, even the same chipset is used on different pcbs and models, but only the newest recreation gets more recent security/bug updated firmware.

I think it would not be hard to adapt a firmware from a one dual color LED pcb to a previous version pcb with 8 LED's and all the same chips. (i.e TP9343 pcb with 32M RAM 4M flash)
