With the stock firmware I started having issues when I installed another router in the house but set the other as bridge or repeater (the thing is it doesnt have QoS and al that stuff as the mode took that away, its an Archer C6 btw, running in Smart Connect, R7000 isnt running in SC). I had the issue where the 5Ghz band would just crash or dropout, and its kinda frustrating while playing or just watching videos, but 2.4Ghz would be just fine.

So after researching I decided to flash dd-wrt, I have followed guides on here and other sites but I just dont have internet access. I have tried changing the local IP Address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. The thing is the internet light is turning on white but neither wifi nor LAN have internet access, and I am sure everything is connected where it should. I am running Kong firmware (v3.0-r40559). I will attach the link with pictures of my settings and status.

Well, for starters r40559 is a BrainSlayer build and it's too old.

After upgrading reset to defaults and put settings in manually
(the most thorough way is to do from the command Line Interface (telnet/putty): nvram erase && reboot )

Setting the local IP to 192.168.2.1 is a good idea as this is your secondary router, make sure the primary router is not on that address.

Check the wiki about wifi settings yours are not optimal

Very helpful forum guidelines in my signature at the bottom of this page

Thanks for the help guys, apparently the update fixed it and the nvram clear & reboot helped it get to stock firmware speeds. Ill check the wifi settings now.
