I need a recommendation for a supported router that has high speed wired performance. Years ago, I was using a Linksys wired router between my server and cable modem. This was no longer practical as network speeds increased. I have been using a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH as a wired router with the radios turned off. It worked great up until now. I increased my internet speed this weekend from 150 mbit/s to 800 mbit/s. It turns out that 150 mbit/s is the top end for my old Buffalo router's wired throughput.
Are there any DD-WRT supported routers with wired performance better than 800 mbit/s?
Yeah I decided to go with the R7800. I picked a used one up cheap. I thought about using a small PC but space wise the R7800 is great. I have also used these in the past with DD-WRT.
Mikrotiks 4011 is pretty sick in my opinion. quad core 1.4ghz processor and supports a 10gbps SFP+. can even manage the interface with winbox.
no USB though so you can use dd-wrt as your NAS IF you are into that.
I may sound like im being anti-ddwrt here but lets face it. dd-wrt is experimental firmware that may or may not work for your everyday needs. It is cool, but there comes a time when you just need something that just works. _________________ For people who are new to the dd-wrt forums >> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm

I picked up an RB4011 and added an SPF+ module to tie it to my cable modem that uses 2.5 gHz connection.
