I was wondering if there is a way to pass the username/password field values into the URL String for Custom DDNS?

I use Namecheap DDNS and the only way i have found is to include the Key directly in the URL as plain text. if the Username and Password fields could be variables that could then be added to the URL String this would prevent us from having to store the password in plain text in the URL Field.

Thoughts?

Yes Namecheap supports HTTPS but because we use custom option within the GUI is the request being handled as https or just http?

Also, I am more concerned with it being exposed in plain text within the Router itself, to prevent others that may have access to the router from seeing the password.

Seems to me that's a function of whether YOU specify http or https in the URL.

A far as protecting the password from prying eyes, let's face it; anyone who has access to the GUI is going to have access to the password. That's a given. That's why the admin needs to protect access w/ a password.

URL does not take a full URL. just the path after the domain name
