Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link doesn't work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r43471 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
r41664 or later for SFE NAT (k3.2+), KRACK (k24+), PBR+SFE, CAKE & FQ_CODEL_FAST (reset!), GTK Rekey timer fixes.
• Reset button was broken at 40571, then fixed in build r40750.
Experimental build option for Broadcom 8MB+ K2.x devices (limited currently): broadcom_K3X_mipsel32r1
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix (applicability depends on VPN setup) and GUI toggle. 6920, 6928, 6931, 6932 (WIP 7040)
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed 6954, 6957, with WSD support.
• Broadcom MIPS devices are now on kernel 4.4. N66U/AC66U half memory is fully resolved.
• Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
• DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091
• WAN lease time approaching zero bug on WRT54* devices fixed in 43191; ref: #6456
• Images for WNR3500Lv2 (BRCM NAND flash crash bug) fixed in 43219 (43217); ref: #7098
WireGuard: Policy Based Routing, Kill Switch, Inbound Firewall, Naming of Peers, Status, Key, Guides. Thanks egc!

Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware. 6246
WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) and bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver. Use client or repeater instead.
VAPs not working at boot fixed for unbridged VAPs with r40564:40566. Workaround startup command:
sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas (there are a few alternatives, search).
If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay (e.g. wait script or 'sleep 25').

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', syslog/serial output, strace etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with relevant configuration information.

Code:
[b]Router/Version: [/b]
[b]File/Kernel: [/b]
[b]Previous/Reset: [/b]

Router: R7000
Firmware: 06/23/20 -r43502
Previous: 06/19/20 -r43471
Reset: No
Mode: AP/Gateway
Errors: None
Uptime: about an hour

Flashed new build today also checked both wireless interfaces in status and both interfaces have working packet counters. I think the reason I had 0 on the 2.4 G when i checked before was because I had no clients connected to that band. After connecting a computer to that band, both the 5 G and 2.4G counters appear to be working correctly. Beyond that, everything else seems normal as well. Will of course update If I find things.

Router / Version: Asus RT-AC68U

File/Kernel: 4.4.228 #380 SMP Tue Jun 23 08:47:04 +04 2020 armv7l DD-WRT

Issues/Errors: No major issues. DNS resolutions stopped from router SSH CLI. Otherwise, work fine from the entire network. (Troubleshooting). Some settings could have reverted. OSPF FRRouting was not working but reconfigured setup for Quagga (version 1.2.4) fairly easily.

Mode: OSPF Router

Setup: OSPF Router (Internet Facing), Interconnected and working perfectly with OSPF on Cisco 3750G + Cisco WS-C4948, Works with 5 Separate VLAN's, VPN Server w/ AES-256, DNSMasq JFFS, Entware, USB, Syslog, SSH, Wireless NG 5G / 2.4G NA, Interconnected with a second Asus RT-AC68U w/ v3.0-r43502 FW also running OSPF, Zabbix Monitoring Agent

Current Firmware: RT-AC68U: DD-WRT v3.0-r43502 std (06/23/20)

Previous Firmware: RT-AC68U: DD-WRT v3.0-r40854 std (08/29/19)

Notables: OSPF - Fully working. ( https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6937 can be closed then. )

Minor Issue description:

Upgraded to r43502 but name lookups stopped working for external and internal DNS domains from within the router CLI. DNS resolution is not impacted on the rest of the network, however.

172.87.80.1, 172.87.81.1, & 64.140.114.21 all belong to Start Communications, Canada. Perhaps something linked with your ISP?

Yep. start.ca is my provider. I only have this one defined:

Code:
Local DNS / Static DNS 3: 64.140.114.21.

I don't have the 172.X defined anywhere, I don't think. Gets pulled down automagically then.

From a VM on the local VLAN, in comparison to the above (192.168.0.6 = Asus RT-AC68U = this router ):

Code:
[root@dd-wrt01 router]# nslookup ipa01.home.lab 192.168.0.6
;; connection timed out; trying next origin
;; connection timed out; trying next origin
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

[root@dd-wrt01 router]# nslookup ipa01.home.lab 192.168.0.46
Server:         192.168.0.46
Address:        192.168.0.46#53

Name:   ipa01.home.lab
Address: 192.168.0.44

[root@dd-wrt01 router]# nslookup ipa01.home.lab 192.168.0.51
Server:         192.168.0.51
Address:        192.168.0.51#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   ipa01.home.lab
Address: 192.168.0.44

[root@dd-wrt01 router]# nslookup ipa01.home.lab 192.168.0.224
Server:         192.168.0.224
Address:        192.168.0.224#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   ipa01.home.lab
Address: 192.168.0.44

[root@dd-wrt01 router]#

DNS service isn't running then but can't remember nor did I capture the ps / netstat output before I upgraded, to determine exactly what isn't running anymore.

Code:
root@DD-WRT:/opt/xfrm4# ps -ef|grep -Ei dns
  420 root     grep -Ei dns
 2458 root     dnsmasq -u root -g root --conf-file=/tmp/dnsmasq.conf
root@DD-WRT:/opt/xfrm4# netstat -na|grep -Ei 2458
netstat: /proc/net/tcp6: No such file or directory
netstat: /proc/net/udp6: No such file or directory
netstat: /proc/net/raw6: No such file or directory
root@DD-WRT:/opt/xfrm4#

root@DD-WRT-INTERNET-ASUS:/opt/xfrm4# netstat -na|grep -Ei
netstat: /proc/net/tcp6: No such file or directory
netstat: /proc/net/udp6: No such file or directory
netstat: /proc/net/raw6: No such file or directory
root@DD-WRT-INTERNET-ASUS:/opt/xfrm4#

I wonder why would nslookup NOT work against external servers then.

It is likely a configuration issue, especially considering more recent changes to dnsmasq and the webUI.
