I followed these instructions from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-N1b42WNSA

And I also pasted administration, commands and save startup, the code: sleep 10;stopservice nas;wlconf eth1 down;wlconf eth1 up;wlconf eth2 down;wlconf eth2 up;startservice nas

I rebooted the router. The Guest network appeared but there is no access to the internet. I used a different password for Guest other than the regular password which would defeat the purpose.

Any advice. The router is Netgear R8000 with firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r43324 std (06/02/20)

Preliminary report
When setting up the vap on router Netgear r6250 with build 40270M, Kong build, using bridged, you can connect to the internet. If I used the unbridged approach and any of the two methods referred to in the documents in the above post, I do not get access to the internet.

On Netgear R8000 with BS experimental drivers build issued on June 10, 2020, whether it is bridged or unbridged, and if unbridged I use any of the two methods in the documents in the above post, I do not get access to the internet.

When I check the traffic on the vap, there is zero transmission sent or received when there is no access to the internet.

I follow the beginner guide on a R6250. Everything works fine on both kong latest version 40270 and on DD-WRT v3.0-r43381 std (06/10/20). For the Firewall Rules for Guest Network and Improve Guest Security, I follow https://www.alexlaird.com/2013/03/dd-wrt-guest-wireless/.

I do not know if this is relevant but I have two routers, Netgear R8000 is the primary router with dhcp,WAN, enable with dhcp server. Netgear R6250 is the secondary router with WAN disabled along with dhcp server disabled. The secondary server gets access to the internet from the primary server.

In the bridge mode, the ip address is the same for both the private and guest network if I signed out of one and sign in to the other.

The above link solved my problem with setting up a vap on my secondary router, Netgear R6250, with no wan and in router mode.
