I have a WL-500G Premium V2 Router and I flash dd-wrt firmware to it. It's version is :
DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 mega (08/06/19)

I followed the instructions specified at :
https://github.com/Entware/Entware/wiki/Install-on-DD-WRT-firmware
and though most went well I get Permission denied upon trying to run opkg in telnet.

I run uname -a and result is :
Linux DD-WRT 2.4.37 #55004 Tue Aug 6 05:02:00 +04 2019 mips DD-WRT

and I run these commands :

I pluged a 14G USB flash device to my router and I had to format it in one Fat32 partition. because any other format didn't mount to my router. you can see below why :

and I tried to solve my possible problem of fat filesystem from there :
https://askubuntu.com/questions/892172/running-shell-script-from-external-drive-via-live-user/892198#892198
but it did not happen.

sorry about my english that is not very well! Very Happy

Welcome to the forum

Your English is not the problem but not reading the forum guidelines is Sad
Forum guidelines: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=324087

Please do not revive an old thread, do not use the router database and post in the right forum, you have a Broadcom device.

Those 4 MB flash K2.4 have only very limited possibilities

I will move this to the right forum

I'm sorry about my nooby acts.
thanks
my device is Asus WL-500g Premium V2
and it has 8MB flash!
I think my problem is for this reason:
Fat32 dosn't support symlink !
so I should flash a firmware that support ext* filesystem.

I found out this:
https://svn.dd-wrt.com/search?q=ext* (with the star: "*")

so how can I find which firmware version (build) that I flash to my device to support ext2 or ext4 ??

1) DO NOT CROSS-POST IN MORE THAN ONE THREAD. I deleted your other hi-jack from the other thread and locked it, I deleted my reply also to move it here.
2) Link the reference that your image came from, the actual ticket or changeset or whatever page from SVN, because we shouldn't have to look through 20 pages of results.
3) I don't think any K2.4 builds ever had ext* filesystem support (maybe someone can verify this).

And yet you didn't answer #2, while posting an oversize image of a screenshot, and linking a commit that does NOT contain the answer to #2. Impressive.

Someone in the past (it was me Wink ) extracted the ext2/4 kernel module, I know someone has made a USB stick with fat partition, dumped the kernel on that and from there loaded the module so that his other ext2/4 partition was accessible.

There is a thread about it somewhere on the forum.

if I remember correctly it was a kernel 3.18 module which could be used in routers using K3.x mega
