- Step 12: I set up a ftpd server using ftpd64 on my laptop with IP address 192.168.1.5
- Step 13: I put the R6250-back-to-ofw.trx from Tomato to the router using the following commands
CFE> flash -noheader 192.168.1.5:R6250-back-to-ofw.trx nflash1.trx
CFE> go
(btw, for step 13 I tried many other firmwares like the Genie initial release 1.0.0.62, dd-wrt, open-wrt, advancedtomato, but none of these were accepted by the router.)
Now my R6250 was back to Genie and functioned well, but stuck with R6250-back-to-ofw from Tomato (= R6250-V1.0.1.84_1.0.78.) I have tried to update to many other Genie versions, or switched to dd-wrt, openwrt, tomato but failed.
Any advise is much appreciated.

the problem may be the R6250-back-to-ofw.trx firmware you used to restore originally, from memory you have to leave the user name blank on initial login then factory reset from gui.
personally i would connect serial back up, break boot to cfe and force an old version of stock firmware with tftp.
