Hello all! I am reviving an old WRT54GL v1.1 to use as a backup wireless router in case I need to work on the primary, or it fails.

I successfully flashed it from stock, following its instructions (linked below), to broadcom mini generic r43266.
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54GL

Release Link:
https://dd-wrt.com/support/other-downloads/?path=betas%2F2020%2F05-27-2020-r43266%2Fbroadcom%2F

I knew that this version likely was missing IPv6 for the WAN, and expected to move on to broadcom Nokaid generic r43266 to obtain that feature - per the link below:
https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Version_Features

Unfortunately, Nokaid seems to be roughly 200KB too large for me to push onto this device. I tested Nokaid special generic, and standard generic from the same release but did not see the IPv6 tab under Setup.

I went back to broadcom mini generic r43266 and was able to get everything I needed with the exception of IPv6. Surprisingly, there is a tab to configure this, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Know that I am trying to run r43191 or higher thanks to BrainSlayer's recent fix for WAN DHCP on this unit:

Is this the right place for a feature request? If so, it would be to reduce the size of Broadcom Nokaid generic enough to fit onto a WRT54GL v1.1 in a future release.

Are there other options for me to get to the same outcome?

Thank you in advance!

You probably will not see IPv6 in a K24 build. Not enough flash space. But feel free to request it.

Thanks @kernel-panic69. I opened the ticket below for the request.

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/7124

It seems that Nokaid generic used to fit onto this device, but has been creeping up in size over the last few months of releases - pushing it over the limit. Is this correct?

It seems so, but have you tried the dd-wrt.v24_nokaid_special_generic.bin files? That wiki seems a little dated, after looking at it, some files that currently exist are not explained.

That is a good call and I did try Nokaid special generic. It was under the size threshold and committed to the device successfully. I went to the Setup tab to alter IPv6, but IPv6 was not there. I assumed that special generic removed IPv6 to get 802.1x into the build - that was the best documentation I could find on what the difference was between special and non-special build.

Ok, I couldn't remember the exact differences between special and otherwise.
