Major apologies up front if this question/request for help is taboo, or has already been asked, or if I placed it in the wrong section, etc. I looked and didn't find anything relevant towards my needs.
I am in need of a router that:
1) has more than 4 LAN ports, 6 will do, 8 would be even better but not required
2) is gigabit capable
3) in able to run DD-WRT
Wifi is not required, but having it is not an issue.
Thanks in advance for any help / guidance that can be provided here

AFAIK, The R9000 is the only 6port NEW router available that can run dd-wrt. I think there are a couple legacy routers with 6 or 8 ports, but much older hardware.
That said, you cannot do any vlans using an R9000 because of how the two switches are tied together inside the router so it's not a very good choice...
So the best answer is to use a separate switch to add ports.
And, the R7800 is the best router to use if you are looking for a new router. _________________ FORUM RULES
