I'm having some trouble with setting up the smb (hard drive ) share within my R7800 router. I've tried to format the hard drive via the web interface, but that does not seems to be the issue. I do remember with my previous router (R7000) I had the option the select which version of smb i do allow.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Stephan

This is a forum which is not used much.

Have a look at the forum guidelines:
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=324087

Where to post.

And while you are reading those take note of the warning to not use the router database.

You seem to be using a crappy build 40599

Thank you for warning me. I'm new to the forum here, so I will take note off future topics and where to post them.

On the subject Router Database, thank you for pointing me to the correct beta build version, I will try to upload the latest (beta) version r43217. I thought those and the router database where the same..

Best regards,
Stephan

We have been asking for a warning on the router database and I received note that it should be up since yesterday I think.

Have not checked yet.

Chances are a lot/some of your problems are solved on a new build Smile

Not sure if this is the right topic. But I'm still having trouble with accessing my smb share. from other devices. I've updated to the latest build r43266. I did turn off my firewall and setup a port forward (port 445) for all my devices(android and ios).

Current situation:
- I can access the share from my W10 laptop.
- I get a connection sometimes on my ios device and sometimes not.
- I can not get a connection on my android tv and android smartphone (S8+).

I tried to connect by ip, ip/shared folder, anonymous and not.

rebooted router several times after disabling firewall etc.

Any suggestion what goes wrong.. Tried different apps, so it seems it cannot access the share somehow..

Thanks!

Stephan
