Site Survey is not working on my new Netgear R7800. I have three routers hardwired to my home network as access points and DHCP forwarders. The first two are Buffalo WZR-1750 DHP and WZR-HP-G300NH. Both were updated to build V30-r40559 and are working fine.
I did a factory-to-ddwrt flash on the R7800 using the same build as the Buffalo routers. Everything seems to be working except for Site Survey. The Wi-viz survey does work.
The Netgear prints the banner for Site Survey but displays no results nor the "refresh close" buttons at the end.

Apparently, you TL;DR'd and glazed over this on the router database landing page:

It seems no matter how much of a collective effort the moderators and admins have made and are making to prevent this, people are still zeroing in on 40559 _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Updated the router to build 43217 and the results are the same. It may be that I am surrounded by too many routers. I am seeing >20 from the neighbors.
What browser are you using, and have you cleared the cache?
Firefox with the cache cleared made no difference. I tried Chrome also and the site Survey still didn't work.
I did a Site Survey with my other routers and got 21 routers on 5 GHz and 28 on 2.4 GHz. The neighbor directly next to me has at least 12 Eero devices on line as APs.
Are you connected to the r7800 5 GHz
you really not saying much other than it don't work for you ---
What Reg Domain you using?
What channel are you using?
What Channel Width?
What Extension Channel?
Does the 5GHz show ok on status page?
Does 2.4 show ok on staus page?
Typhoon is my router that I am having the issue with. Cyclone is my Buffalo router that supports 5 GHz and ThunderStorm is my Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router
I am making some progress on this issue. My main house server is RHEL 5.3 with FireFox 3 beta standard issue installed. It works perfectly with the Site Survey. Here are my observations using FireFox on my Linux server:
There is roughly a 7 second delay between banner print and data display for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
Routers/APs observed were 37 at 2.4 GHz and 17 at 5.0 GHz.
It's getting late. I plan to do a Wireshark trace on the working case with my Linux server and my nonworking Windows desktop tomorrow. Something appears to be timing out possibly due to large number of routers in my area.
From Wireshark, it seems the client system(Windows 7) timed out wait for the site router data. Here's the sequence:
Client sends "Site Survey" request
Router opens a new window and prints banner data via the client.
3.3 second delay
Client attempts to close the TCP connection by sending a FIN,ACK
2 second delay
Router sends Site Survey across multiple packets while the client is sending RST packets to the router.
The bottom line is it is client side timeout issue. Site Survey does work with my Linux server so I can get the data when required.
