Surprise - I can administer WRT54G over 5ghz wireless

How am I able to administer my DD WRT control panel on a Linksys WRT54G over the 5ghz connection of my split connection Vodafone Huawei 963168 Vox25?

I thought because the Linksys WRT54G is just a 2.4Ghz device, that would be impossible.

This is absolutely NOT a problem - just a pleasant surprise. I ask the question more for my education, as this has been my first ever networking-type project (other than plug-and-play) and it might also help me to understand the network I now have.

A 5Ghz client cannot connect directly to the 2.4Ghz wifi of the wrt54g.

If you have another router that is dual band, you can repeat from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz.
