Here is the router details,
Router ModelDlink DIR862-A1
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19)
Kernel VersionLinux 3.18.140 #49350 Tue Aug 6 03:36:37 +04 2019 mips

I have enabled USB core and printer support settings from the service section as mentioned in one of the blog. I am not seeing port 9000/9100 listening when I ssh'ed to the router. I have also tried running entware but no luck with packages. There is no package available named kmod-usb-printer or p910nd. Am I missing something here ?

Thanks for the quick response.
I have updated to the latest firmware but still don’t see any printer ports. I have attached the ps listing.

Ok, what is the output of:
Code:
nvram show | grep usb

The key parameters that should be present are:
Code:
usb_enable=1
usb_printer=1

If those are not correct, you can try doing:
Code:
nvram set usb_enable=1
nvram set usb_printer=1
nvram commit
reboot

If the parameters ARE correct, then there is a problem. Otherwise, there is an issue with the webUI save and/or apply functions (still).

Well, now. This is weird, because my E4200 has working usb printer support (or at least the process is running):
Code:
509 root       916 S    {p910nd} p9100d -f /dev/lp0 0

There are two open related tickets:

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5012

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6876

You could try 'which p910nd' to see if it exists on the router and possibly try starting it manually as a workaround.

Technically not the easy way but support is always possible via Entware: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Entware

Then install p901nd and cups.
