Update: Updated to 43078, no issues after that (probably fixed before that).

Did you mean a later build? It looks like 43078 is the one you originally reported the issue on...

Anyway, I'm still seeing this in 44251 so the problem I'm having is probably different. Will start a new thread for mine.

Quit mixing your webUI access with your internet traffic, and don't use Chromium-based browsers for webUI access.

I always use Firefox on the occasions I have to use the webUI at all (prefer SSH) Wink and at least for me, the reboots are happening when there is no active webUI session (e.g. often overnight or when I'm out of the house so few devices are connected).

This is still happening on the latest builds - 45592 and 45735. Is there a ticket about this, did someone report it or have found a solution? I can clearly see that if I turn on the PS4 connected to a LAN port I magically get 3-4 MB free RAM on my WR740N v4.

I will have to look at a TL-WR940N that I have configured as a wired AP when I get back to where it is and see if it is having the issue, but it is on 44715, if I am not mistaken. Question: Is anyone running the ttraf daemon in their configuration in this thread?

I have mine disabled. I am pretty sure it was happening on 44715 as well, I have been trying so many builds... Thank you for spending some time to look into it.

wr940 v3 (wr941 v6) / r40750 with 2 attached LAN devices everything is ok, both wired computers are offline most of time, but LAN ports stay linked not off. (both bios are set to enable WOL support, this keeps them somehow linked/activ)
AP (Router Mode, Spanning Tree, dnsmasq, logging disabled) switched uplink from WAN to LAN1 now online all the time, did not see reboots while using WAN for uplink

Maybe someone can confirm that. No need to start computers for me. Cannot comment if there is a difference is gateway and Router Mode regarding this issue

There is a ticket created but it will probably need a serial log.

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/7346

The output from the scripts showing available RAM is quite different when having clients connected and not connected.

Yes, with clear on startup. But in the previous posts people failed to see any connection to it and it's usage in top doesn't increase.

Have a look at the logs in the ticket, when there is nothing connected to the router it very consistently restarts, with LAN clients and wireless clients it never reaches that.

I never enable uPnP. It is a security hole.

I generally agree but I do not think uPnP is the root of the issue, as mentioned here the restart happens with it ON or OFF. I am out of ideas as how to tackle that - the serial logs must be the way to go, but for now I cannot make one.

as i stated above im avidly using 1043v2 router and have no problems with mem-leaks...
few reasons why router can crash and reboot...

bad settings..
incompatible or dodge clients..
bad PSU or radio is corrupted...
bad capacitors...
intensive heavy use of services that take a big toll on specs CPU/Mem...
too many settings stored, that eat the nvram...64k
may be a bad switch that play's funny(corrupted)...
if you provide me a full list of settings i can try to recreate your scenario, but i doubt its DDWRT, more likely its a router hardware corruption....

once again, i have quite of a use of 1043v2 you can see my signature...and this is very rock solid device thanks to BS...and DDWRT...

The router in question is WR740N v4, the model was mentioned in the thread a few times by other users prior.

These are the normal reasons for a router reboot. The problem is that the reboot behavior is happening when the router is idle - when it has no LAN clients, no active wireless clients. Everyday I leave for work and my two phones are DEAUTH the available RAM starts to go down gradually and after some time it resets. If I and my family are using the router, have a LAN PS4 on, have many mobile devices streaming and so on, the available RAM is 10MB+ which is not logical that when the router is working it has more memory than when idle.

I will make some screenshots of the settings when I can so that someone might notice if anything is wrong with them.

hmm yep out of the blue, you ve jumped in that thread and i dint see your post...my mistake as this thread was 1043v2 related...

i also have WR740N v4 running an old build, but still fine...im not updating it as i don't need to...and dont have an access to it most of the time...its a grand-ma router, that its not designed for anything else than a switch or grand-ma router...
those are for a basic needs and have very low specs...do not expect performance of a Ferrari from an old fart car...yep it tends to choke up, but been idle and reboots means you need to check your NIC or router switch and all of those above that apply + malware that floods the router with udp/tcp flood... and firewall gets fed up with shait...and eats all of the ram...
your best move will be, "go and find another router" if you want performance of a Ferrari .....
p.s. ill update it to a new build while i can...
just to confirm WR740N v1, i also have its running fine...(the real grand ma router)
