Resizing DD-WRT partition for the professional install

I wrote a nice long post but the forum software trashed it.
here is my angry summary:

DD-WRT on Protectli FW6 w/250GB SSD. Upgrade to professional, add partition for data and DD-WRT using protocol for clean installation.

2GB enough or add more for headroom for upgrades?

DD-WRT good, $22 to support DD-WRT. USB and WiFi nice but not necessary.

Professional works w/o activation (no internet right now), or professional requires activation to work and refuses to work at all?
