This build 43028 has been running great for me - uptime 8 days on both devices. Lots of Webex/Zoom meetings for work, and two kids home from college taking remote classes and lessons - we've been putting them through their paces. No DHCP/dnsmasq problems luckily. It may replace 42015 as my go-to release.

Linksys WRT3200ACM: gateway mode, DNSMasq for DNS and DHCP, Wireguard client (Mullvad), Firewall enabled, QoS enabled HTB-CAKE, PBR enabled (SFE disabled). WIFI: 2.4ghz: NG-mixed, 20mhz channel width, channel 1, WPA2-CCMP-128. 5ghz: AC/N mixed, 80mhz channel width, channel 149+6, WPA2-CCMP-128.

Linksys WRT1900ACSv1: router mode, hardwired ethernet lan to WRT3200ACM above. WIFI: 2.4ghz: NG-mixed, 20mhz channel width, channel 11, WPA2-CCMP-128. 5ghz: AC/N mixed, 80mhz channel width, channel 36+6, WPA2-CCMP-128.

Clients: Apple MACOS, IOS, Apple TV, Chromecast Audio, Eufy doorbell, Lutron Caseta, Axis Cameras, Samsung TV, Nest thermostat....

There is only one dhcp server package in DD-WRT. The udhcpd package from busybox is no longer being used. This could likely be something related to the v2.81 update to dnsmasq that may be fixed in an upstream patch.

If you have any suggestions regarding this please pass it along.
I have tried the last few releases up to r43078 and all have the same DHCP drop dead issue. I reverted to 43012 (even though it was pulled) which worked for me when I used it before. Without changing any configuration it has been stable for 24+ hours and by dropping my high activity 1900 back to 31924 my logs are virtually clean with only the very occasional reconnect. The 1900 issue I don't believe is relevant here but it seems the combination is working. The only quirk I have noticed is when startup occurs, I have a couple of Sonoff devices which have trouble maintaining connection, but once connected remain solid (usually after about an hour of retries). These slow to connect devices have been solid now for 22+ hours.
Obviously something changed in the recent builds and will likely require some re-configuration of DHCP/DNS but I am at a loss since I have had very little need to play with these settings. I did try, as mentioned in another post, to disable the "Use DNSMasq for DNS" option but that was a very bad idea since I then began having problems with the time set being unable to resolve the dns query and lost my connection to Papertrail for the same reason.
So please if you wouldn't mind guiding me with this it would be much appreciated. As a note I haven't seen anyone else having the DHCP drop dead issue, so I do believe it has to do with my configuration, which I haven't changed in years in relation to DHCP/DNS and believe they are all default.

**** UPDATE ****

I do apologize if I was annoying with this post, but I just tried an experiment but won't know the full impact till tomorrow as the DHCP at times would work for as much as 24+ hours.
What I have done is stopped using the 2.4ghz on my master as it was configured with wmm disabled and g-only. I offloaded the devices to my 1200 V1 which I updated to r43078 and also put the 3200 and 1900 WDS Station back to r43078.
Initially I had a bit of difficulty with the 1900 but not unexpected since it was such an old build. But overall every thing came back up properly. No strange errors in logs and no delays in connections with any devices.
Should prove interesting to see results long term.

I do agree, I also disabled 2.4Ghz and I'm running without any DHCP or Wi-Fi drops problems for a couple of days. So it has to do with 2.4Ghz band.

I have a WRT1200AC V2 running r43028. I just got a few Feit Smart bulbs and they will not connect on 2.4GHz. They use the ESP8266 chipset, which I understand has had issues in the past.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with this release or should I look at something else as the cause? Thanks.

To answer the question about ESP8266 devices;
I have tried pretty much every build in MAY and had no problems with these devices. On the 3200 nothing has changed, it is necessary to disable wmm and run G-Only but as for the 1900's and 1200 they run perfectly.

Now as for the comments I posted regarding DHCP "Drop Dead"; None of the MAY builds have been able to exceed 48 hrs. without the 3200 completely going to sleep no DHCP therefore no internet and no connections. Just had r43192 do the same which has been running with 2.4Ghz disabled 48 hrs. and dead.

Have upgraded all routers to 43290 but won't know if the problem persists as the dying occurs usually after 48 hrs. run time although I have seen with some builds it occurs shortly after 24.

DHCP configuration (for DNSMasq) has been kicked around in the forum a few times over the past couple of years. I just looked at what you posted on your configuration and I'm willing to bet that is is possibly culprit. Definitely reminiscent of issues I had because of the combination of bad config and the GTK rekey/radio timer issue that has since been fixed on Broadcom. I generally set the static entries to the router IP address; check dnsmasq for dns, authoritative, and forced redirection; use no-resolv and server= entries in my additional dnsmasq configs. Very rarely does NTP not resolve and I've never seen dhcp drop completely in quite some time since I've been using the configuration I came up with after a lot of trial and error and discussion last year or the year before. Sorry I didn't respond before now, but that's my food for thought.

[quote="WENED"]To answer the question about ESP8266 devices;

I originally updated to 43028 from 41586 because I thought it would fix the ESP8266 problem. Per WENED's suggestion, I decided to upgrade to a May release (43290 being the latest) only to find it was just pulled.

Ok, I'll just select another build. Which one? Who the hell knows.

Just once I'd like to be able to select a known good build without having to jump through hoops. As I've said before, the release process is absolute crap.

p.s. Anyone know why the quotes never seem to format properly for me?

43290 has not been pulled. You might need to clear your browser cache or something, but the downloads are there. Perhaps use an FTP client for the FTP site.

I am not sure why the quote thing is happening, but I am beginning to wonder if the forum database has been getting kept up properly since this is an antique phpBB version. There's a post in a thread I was trying to fix that is no longer visible to me.

I don't know what happened earlier, but 43290 just showed up for me. I'll decide in a few days if I want to try upgrading.

BTW, I ended up with even more problems with 43028. My remote VoIP phone stopped working (I have a VoIP phone system at home) and the 5 GHz kept asking for the password and wouldn't accept the correct one. I switched back to 41586 (which I was running before I tried 43028 for this issue) and everything works again (except the ESP8266 bulbs of course). Who has time for this?

I think a small PFSense box and separate APs are in my future. I've just about run out of patience with Brainslayers hobby.

Additional dnsmasq configs. Forgive my ignorance but I don't quite follow. Could you be a bit more descriptive.

Go to the services page, scroll down to the dnsmasq section. There's a text entry box: "Additional Dnsmasq Options". Sorry, I say configs, the webUI says options, same damn thing. There's at least one thread about discussing how to configure dnsmasq...
