After 5 or so hours I've successfully flashed (for the first time) DD-WRT from stock firmware and set up PPPoE on the WAN port with VLAN ID Tag 2. The VLAN tag is a requirement for my FTTP connection with Internode in Australia.
I'm just sharing my experience to hopefully help anyone else looking to do the same on the 880L.
Funnily enough, my Setup -> Switch Config screen turned out exactly as in the first post.
Set the W port (column) to be on VLAN 2 and Tagged (near the bottom). (Mine was already on VLAN 2)
Set the VLAN 2 (row) Assigned To Bridge: LAN.
Set the other columns to VLAN 1.
Set the VLAN 1 (row) Assigned To Bridge: LAN.
Set Wireless: LAN
Apply Settings
On the Setup -> Networking screen check that WAN Port Assignment is set to vlan2. Mine was already.
Provided your PPPoE is set up correctly, you should now be connected!

I also had some success using the startup script method mentioned in the above linked thread. BEWARE, I'm pretty sure the port numbers are different. I had my WAN connected and LAN ports could reach the internet but my Wireless could not. You will need to work out that method if you need a VLAN tag higher than 15. I gave up on this approach after I found where the Switch Config screen was.

so just curious if vlan tagged 201 is possible? since that page only goes to 15? on stock dlink firmware it does it just fine, but the wifi is so wonky.
Forgive my ignorance in the VLAN tagging space, I am still trying to wrap my head around it, and luckily I haven't had an ISP that requires it yet.
What is the purpose of the switch config page vs. the VLAN tagging section at the top of the Setup>Networking page? Can the VLAN tagging section be used to tag VLANs greater than 0-15 on whichever interface? _________________ R7000 Nighthawk - DD-WRT v3.0-r50308
