[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and specific device recovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• DNScrypt 1.95 can still be used in the GUI but v2 (not compatible) requires Golang and thus Entware:6246
• WDS does not work on Broadcom ARM devices (only MIPS<->MIPS) and bridge modes on k4.4 devices may sometimes work in some configurations in certain builds but are not supported by the bcmdhd driver: use client or repeater instead.
• VAPs not working at bootfixed for unbridged VAPs with r40564:40566.Workaround startup command: sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas(there are a few alternatives: search)
• If start-up scripts do not work from USB add a delay e.g.: wait script or `sleep 25`
Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: syslog output, 'dmesg', 'cat /var/log/messages', serial output etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with any relevant configuration information.
Router Model : Netgear R8000
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r42954 std (04/20/20)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.219 #1344 SMP Mon Apr 20 07:57:57 +04 2020 armv7l
Mode: Samba, client, vpn client, usb, nas
Previous: r42514
Upgrade: GUI
Reset: yes, hard reboot
Status: cannot get wan ip address, samba worked until hard reboot the router
After the initial upgrade, the router did not soft reboot but continued to show the previous, r42514, build. I had to hard reboot. Ghost remained in the previous filled fields, that is, once you clicked on a previous filled field, the information that was there can be seen and selected. I selected and deselected smartdns and dnsmasq in differing combinations and still could not get a wan ip address.
I have reverted back to r42514.
Tried the experimental driver build and did not have any wireless (no WiFi, no tabs in admin pages, etc.). The LEDs for the wireless were on solid unlike with the non-experimental build where they flash showing activity on both 2.4 & 5 GHz. Standard build working fine.
I used to (up until this week) check the router status 2 or 3 times a day. I would normally have to reboot the router every 1-2 days due to the 5 GHz radio not authenticating (it was there, it would show the connection attempt, but no connection with the device). There were no errors in the syslog. After the first reboot within 24 hours of installing, I have not revisited the web page other than to ensure after reboot that everything was up and running. Router is still connecting on 5 GHz. Timing issue with the web UI showing connections? Don't know since there have been no errors and connected devices aren't being dropped. Just doesn't accept new connections.
Edit April 27: 5GHz WiFi still up, all seems to still be working. Have not looked at status page since 1 week ago. Also running OpenVPN client with no apparent issues. Not running any builtin DNS as DNS is provided by in-house server.

-Current uptime is 4 hours. No disconnections. No drops.
-I am not seeing as much as a buffer as I did with FreshTomato.
-OpenVPN running continuously setup using ExpressVPN.
-Using policy-based routing to DHCP Static IP (Xbox One).
-2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi connections are stable. No drops.
Question: Is this firmware overclocking friendly? Looking to enhance to 1200 but at this point, everything is running smooth, i dont know if its even worth it.

Please re-read the original post, specifically the warning preface. You've been warned.
Top result for "R8000 overclocking dd-wrt" from Google:
Router Model: D-Link DIR-880L
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r42954 (04/20/20)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.219 #1344 SMP armv7l
Mode: Samba, usb, nas, torrent
Previous: v3.0-r42617 (03/05/20)
Upgrade: GUI

Status: cannot connect to VPN PPTP protocol. r42617 connects ok but all newer releases cant establish connection with VPN.
Tried it many times with other builds after r42617, the problem still remains.
Router Model: ASUS RT-AC5300
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r42954 (04/20/20) experimental version

Status: Wifi tab missing, wifi not working at all, dmesg included.
Same as last build for me... Using experimental version and no wifi.
Router/Version: Netgear R7000
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r42954 std (04/20/20)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.219 #1339 SMP Sat Apr 18 09:14:27 +04 2020 armv7l
Previous: r42925
Mode/Status: Gateway / working
Reset: no
Issues/Errors: Working well so far.
Uptime: 11hrs 24min
Temperatures: CPU 61.4 °C / WL0 44.3 °C / WL1 50.3 °C
Tried reinstalling r42954 by first using nvram erase && reboot.
I was able to temporary get a wan ip and the samba worked until I ticked, under administration, the protocol https with http already ticked, applied, saved and reboot.
I no-longer got a wan ip address and even thought the sys info says samba enabled and running, the television says; no stored files found. Samba is not working.
Removing the tick from https should have allowed the wan ip address to reappear after applied, saved and reboot but I did not see it happened. The wan ip address appears to be working finicky.
The error messages in the sys log are the same as those I posted above.
I have reverted back to r42514 which is working for me. No problems with it.

did you have unchecked "Use DNSMasq for DNS" in Setup/ Basic setup tab? In may case I can connect, but internet browsing is impossible. _________________ Linksys EA6900
