r34175m kong with k4.14 is broken in the same way i mentioned above. router slow, hangs, lockups etc
Did you reset, when I first flashed it I could not connect to it at all, after reset I have not experienced any issue so far. Still playing around.
doesnt fix it. the moment u apply settings on any page for anything it starts doing it again & will never stop unless revert by tftp or erase settings & dont even breathe on it
eg: set username/pass, went straight to qos, htb+fq_codel, 153600/15360 down/up, checked all tcp packet priorities thats it, the only change from entire fw defaults. apply settings it goes into hang unhang galore.

Just bought one of these recently and put Kong (test build) r34175M - 12/22/17. Big mistake on my part.
The router now freezes pretty quickly after boot, web page freezes if it loads at all, cannot ssh in after about 10 seconds, and it will not respond to pings after that.
Not sure how to even reset this since it's not up long enough to upload firmware. Seems I'm just out a new router.
Looks like the freeze up only occurs when it is actually connected to my modem. But this still makes it a useless device now.
Edit: pressed the reset button, seems to have made it stable enough to upload the 12/18/2017 Kong build. Hoping that will stop the hard lock ups.

did you used the correct R7800-factory-to-ddwrt.img for first flash did you do reset after the flash
did you do erase nvram after loading the .bin file
prior flashing did you isolate the unit so no devices/modem connected to it
did you changed your new flashed router GUI ip address in case if it interferes with modem address
did you check your PSU (power supply) it ok and have enough power and its working correctly
try to isolate any cause before you complain build its not working
to be honest i already have few days on 34175 and this build is working well for me an my set up ... _________________ Atheros

yep

yep
did you isolate the unit so no devices/modem connected to it
Seems to be caused by QoS, so it only locks up once it is connected to the modem.
did you changed your new flashed router GUI ip address in case if it interferes with modem address
It does not interfere with the modem's address, I could ssh into it for about 10 seconds before it would lock up.
did you check your PSU it ok and have enough power and its working correctly
Works fine on the 12/18/17 Kong build and stock firmware, doubt it's a power issue.
From his posts here, it seems that Kong is aware of the hangs due to QoS on the R7800. I don't believe this is a configuration mistake on my part.
Is it hangs with QoS off?
I dont have a hangs or freezes with r34175 qos off but unfortunately my Intel 7265 do not connect automatically to r34175 after laptop start, only manually and i downgrade router to latest 3.18 (r34015). Hope it will be fixed with next update _________________ Netgear R7800
I played wirh r34284 on the ea8500 last night and yea QOS would lock it up .....but so would just about everything else. Multiple httpd crashes...too many to list ...and most would cause lockup ... no ssh no telnet, no http ...reboot required.

the cause of complete shit hfsc throughput on k4.x is cpu saturation from interrupts. moving wan interface to core 1 from core 0 turns hfsc throughput from 95mps to 139mbps, still sucks but that was clearly it. this is purely a throughput affecting thing, latency is still the worst with hfsc on k4.x & this is for k4.x ONLY. so aside from the router ADDING latency with (any combo) qos, hfsc's load went way up in k4.x for whatever reason.
k3.18 is unaffected (eg: sfq on k3.18 is still capping at 130mbps).
i saw BS do a commit to "increase rpm clocks" during the k4.x port, maybe they arent high enough? also for the hfsc thing i mentioned above, does the switch driver have any interrupt moderation options? if yes they on/off vs k3.18? switch tx/rx buffer settings?
like i said im not alone https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1110403#1110403 its either the kernel thats broken from maintainers itself, or something we got set wrong. not our "bullshit equipment that somehow broke from a ROUTER software kenerl change that shows INSTANT MASSIVE results in 1 minute from a fw build downgrade".
r7800 was reverted back to k4.9 from k4.14 too, guessing the reason for that was obvious.. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)
