Hello.
vic here
on Netgear R7500 v1,
i tried to install the factory -ddwrt firmware that is linked in the downloads but it gave an error that is not compatible.
i could install an earlier beta, but nothing after december 2017 and larger than 24MB in size.
i thing it's a limitation from the router?
can somebody point out to a sollution for betas from 2019 - 2020! maybe it's working on some.
i've tried web and tftp.
Web: from stock to ddwrt does not recognize the file as valid, from ddwrt 2017 to ddwrt 2019 fails (it starts flash and the router seems flashing but in the end it boots up the same 2017 version)

Possibly, but you should try Method 3: Flashing with Command Line to see what the actual error is, or if that will work. Outside of that, the only other option to try is serial:

thank you!
the v1 seem to be indeed size restricted to 25165824 bytes. will take care of it in next release _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

Hello
and thanks for resolving the issues with firmware size for R7500. installing works now on beta releases.
however, for anyone interested, there is no support for 5GHz band wifi for this router.

Following up here. I was obviously ignorant to the fact that this device has a Quantenna chipset for the 5GHz, which is likely unsupported in DD-WRT due to lack of driver/firmware from upstream.
