Hi all, hoping I'm just overlooking something simple here.

I have the above mentioned router, been running DDWRT on it for years without issue. But today I decided to turn it into a pure wired switch instead, no radio.

I followed the guide to the letter and everything seemed to go fine. Reboot and presto, works exactly as expected. For about 13 minutes. Then it just dies. POOF. Gone. Anything behind it, now just gets a self assigned IP (if anything).

Basic network layout is:

Comcast-supplied cable modem/wifi/router -> basic switch which feeds most of the house -> AC1450 which feeds a Mac media server, PS4, and a few other odds & ends.

Comcast modem is handling DHCP, and nothing else on the network is impacted, only whatever is behind DDWRT. Wifi of course is not impacted negatively anywhere in any way.

I've re-done the entire switch configuration 3 times, identical results every time. Am I overlooking something? Thank you for any tips or ideas!

Well I can't explain it, but shortly after making this post the network became stable again. Now this morning about 12 hours later, the switch is still up. Very odd but I can't complain!

Latest release:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2020/03-13-2020-r42681/netgear-ac1450/

That is quite an old build. At the very least, I would update to:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2017/11-16-2017-r33772/netgear-ac1450/

or

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2018/03-26-2018-r35531/netgear-ac1450/

Thanks for the update suggestions. I looked into updating but was saving that as a last resort, in case it made things worse. But as I did look into it I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to update to, so this is very helpful.
