I hope this means that the WLAN driver is publicly accessible as well as the wireless chipset firmware, otherwise it's moot as the Linksys GPL center doesn't have the source code tarball for this version posted yet.

That Marvell should do. But knowing them, their current state and that they are a business for profit, we may never get to use this firmware in open source.

Probably because that repository isn't being updated:

My experience with 1.0.6.186168 (January 16, 2018) was a good one, no issues with my specific devices.

I have not tried 1.0.8.198828 (January 8, 2020).

Generally it's a good idea to avoid the DFS 5Ghz range.

You do not need to upgrade stock Linksys firmware in advance; you can go directly to DD-WRT.

You may want to do some research before diving head first into DD-WRT.

I have no idea what problems you are having, but it's probably a good idea to start a new thread.

I tried tried 1.0.8.198828 (January 8, 2020) yesterday, and my WIFI (Both 2.4 & 5) shut down last night.

On one of the Linksys forums they are recommending rolling back to 1.0.6.186168, which I did.

Hi, I have been user, but have been a watcher only, of DD-WRT for a few years (old wrt610 (ashtray), r7000 untill HW died).
I bought wrt3200acm on sale (50% off). I am using stock Jan 2020 version and so far it has been stable (wifi speeds are as expected for by isp limits: 150 d/16 Up for 5G (as expected per Rogers ISP) and 40-50 D / 16 U for 2.4 G devices). Config is basic (firewall, port forwarding, cloudfare DNS, etc, and usually 10-12 devices (mostly wireless) in a 2 story medium sized home).

Having said this, I would love to switch to DDWRT to take advantage of extra functions (like DNSMASQ, more firewall IP rules, OPENVPN, etc.). However, as this is my first Marvell chipset product, can I achieve the speeds and stability as noted above? If so, latest build? Before my r7000 died, 41813 was good for me.

I would likely wait until the next public beta release.

I can't remember if you were the one who I asked about a broken R7000 or not, but if you want to get rid of it, let me know.

Hi, Thanks, I'll wait. I'll stay on stock for now and watch for reviews of next release. Is there anything big expected for next beta ? re. would there be any issue with going to a release (seems like 41954 had good reviews)?
As for r7000: no i was not the person you asked. To answer anyway, it is on a shelf. I tried recovering with TFTP, but no luck. I am too lazy and busy to try a serial cable. Can I donate it somewhere to see if it can be of use?

r41813 and r42335 are good builds.

I can't really recommend any builds in between as there was far too much development going on (thanks BS).

Right now there's a ton of work being done on channel selection, httpd and web interface so keep an eye on the upcoming build threads for feedback if you don't want to be an early tester.

r42514 is out.

Hi, I am using Build 42410 and it is pretty stable, for my needs. The only issue is the slower than expected 2.4 G speeds (no matter what combo I tried). re. best setting is N only (no G or lower in my home), wpa2 aes, full 20, channel 1.
Anyway, my point is I saw a openwrt davidc502 build released today and he mentions he included driver version 10.3.8.0-20200206 included.
I went with dd-wrt because I used for years (broadcom) and I had familiarity, so I prefer not switching.
However, does anyone know if the new drivers are in the works with Brainslayer's priorities? Could they improve 2.4 g speeds or they are mainly geared around stability and 5G?
