Current Build: 40559

I have two WRT3200's acting as access points to a rather large house. (13 bedrooms)

I'm expericing some strange behavior with the wireless between both of them.

I've disabled 2/3 of the wireless and I've left ath1 on. (I've gone through all iterations of turning on different wireless's)

The problem that is coming up is the wireless is only allowing a set number of users onto the wireless. (~9-11 clients) from here when someone new tries to connect it reports a client will report that they cannot connect with errors like "Password not correct", "Wireless is out of range", and on windows it reports that it just cannot connect.

Some insight into why this is happening would be very much appreciated.

The router database hasn't been updated in a long time, so here is the build I'm currently using.

After a successful flash and reboot, you may need to reconfigure from scratch after a hard reset.

If you continue to have issues, the open source mwlwifi driver and binary may not be cooperating with one or more of your client devices. It may not be related to the number of clients.

You may need to use the stock Linksys firmware which uses a proprietary driver and binary for the wifi radio chipset. Luckily it was just recently updated on January 8 (after two years).

Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction, I swapped out to that build and it looks like it is working like a charm (no drops or anything)

After a day, the wireless just crapped out.

I think I'm giving up on this software/hardware.

I'd flash the January stock firmware, confirm success and then hard reset.

Unfortunately Marvell's open source wifi driver support is abandoned, so you are likely to have better luck with stock firmware.

The other option is to disable all internal radios and use external access points. It's a great Ethernet router.

One thing I must note is you didn't provide enough info to help troubleshoot, particularly basic settings and wireless security.

Channel Width? Wireless Network Mode? Channel?

ath2 is disabled in wireless network mode? 5 Ghz ath0 channel is set outside of DFS range?

WPA2 Personal and CCMP-128 (AES) only checked?

It was only my guess that one of your client devices might be triggering a bigger issue, though if you have IoT (doorbell etc) and/or B/G/N devices it's probably true.

It would be worthwhile to try today's build.
