I have configured an OpenVPN server on my DD-WRT powered R7000. I can connect to this from the public IP address.

I would like to have it use an VPN- gateway (VPN via NordVPN and running Pi-hole) https://github.com/mr-canoehead/vpn_client_gateway/wiki/Installation-Guide as its gateway and DNS-server.

How to tell the DD-WRT OpenVPN server to use 192.168.178.7 as gateway for internet access and DNS? The router's IP is 192.168.178.1
The goal of all this is to have Pi-hole filtered NordVPN on my phone.

I have tried:
push "route 192.168.178.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.178.7"
push "dhcp-option DNS 192.168.178.7"
In the additional config field, but that does not seem to work.
