Yeah, that would be too much work for little to no benefit. Easier to update from USB. Don't know about Samsung but Sony usually stops updating after 1.5-2 years. 2018 lineup won't be getting Android 9, some 2019 models too even. |

** IF you can access the USB port** ... which, I cannot as they are permanently mounted to the wall and I don't have an inspection mirror handy. The Samsungs here are about 3 years old and still receiving updates, AFAIK. Last one was in November / December, if I remember right. since i discovered the real meaning of the word 'smart device' , i started to isolate those either on vlan or managed switch...at home my smart TV used to have very limited time for an update via cron job, now completely cut off/no connection to internet...all multimedia is on a laptiop via hdmi _________________ Atheros
